FILMTECKNARNA’S STIG BERGQVIST AND JONAS DAHLBECK DIRECT LIVE ACTION ANIMATED SPOT PROMOTING SWEDISH HORSE RACING

Collaborating in their Stockholm office Stig Bergqvist and Jonas Dahlbeck recently completed a 30 second commercial promoting ATG, the popular Swedish horse racing circuit. The directors wrote, directed, shot, animated and edited the spot.

The commercial features a jockey and his mount on vacation with the horse pulling a small trailer tipped by the jockey into a campground.  There the duo play volleyball, barbecue and watch TV.  The nimble horse nearly outplays the jockey in their volleyball game.  To achieve this seemingly impossible feat, the directors used a CGI animated horse and ball - then shot the live action on HD video.

Stig notes, "We wanted to tell a story with fun little scenes featuring the friendship between  the Jockey and his horse and show that even while away on holiday however, they enthusiastically  keep up on what's going on at the races."  He also adds, "..the spot conveys a nice, quiet kind of warmth and humor.  We're also pleased that in a CGI-heavy spot, the overall effect was seamless. Quite understated."
