FILMTECKNARNA DIRECTORS BORIS NAWRATIL AND DAVID NORD CREATE NEW TV SPOT FOR TV4 SWEDISH TELEVISION

David Nord and Boris Nawratil of FilmTecknarna recently directed a new spot for TV4, a Swedish television network that offers a variety of news, sports, entertainment shows, and feature films. The spot employs a combination of live action and animation to create a fantastical, cinematic world in which characters from various film genres emerge from their respective filmstrips as the camera passes them.

David and Boris' creative vision was to give the spot a visual flow that tied together TV4’s wide selection of programming. From a technical standpoint, the spot was filmed using a giant trampoline in a greenscreen studio. After live action was shot with solely circus performers, stunts, and athletic gymnasts, the spot entered a heavy CGI phase during which the FilmTecknarna team created the unique animated world.  Describing the process of creating the audio, David says "Working with the musicians was rewarding.  We started with a typical, commercially-safe sound but through collaboration came out with something more sonically striking."

Commenting on the spot’s originality, David describes the project as “bold and personal, especially for a TV channel identity,” while he says the shoot itself was “A happy experience for everyone involved, like a day at the daycare!"
