DIRECTOR JONAS ODELL ROARS ON THE HOURS 'ALI IN THE JUNGLE' MUSIC VIDEO

FilmTecknarna director Jonas Odell is helping heighten the anticipation for U.K. band The Hours' release of "Ali in the Jungle." Odell created the music video for the title track, part of a four-song digital EP just made available in the U.S. The eagerly-awaited album is forecast to meet pent-up fandom stateside and will be heavily promoted here.

Describing "Ali in the Jungle," the website Alt Sounds remarks: "Inspired by the historic 1974 world heavyweight bout between then-reigning champion George Foreman and former title-holder Muhammad Ali, [the track] is a hard-hitting and hook-packed paean to the human spirit with an unforgettable litany of powerhouse triumph in the chorus."

Having opened for Oasis, U2 and Kasabian, the band members of The Hours include singer-songwriter-producer Antony Genn (who played with Elastica and Pulp) and Martin Slattery (Genn's previous bandmate in The Mescaleros, Joe Strummer's post-Clash group).

Jonas Odell is internationally renowned for his music video and TV commercial work, having directed clips for U2, Madonna and Franz Ferdinand. His most recent creative endeavor a short film entitled "Tussilago", is nominated for a Golden Bear at the prestigious 2010 Berlin Film Festival (decisions will be made this week). In 2009 Odell's short film "Lies" received worldwide accolades, including an award for Best International Short Film at the Sundance Film Festival.
